Happy Birthday Wishes!
Oct. 3rd, 2005 06:14 pmBefore I do anything else, Id like to wish my dear friend Casey a WONDERFULLY Happy Birthday. He's 25 today, and its a pretty spectacular thing that for 10 of those years, he and I have been friends.
I'll never forget how he ushered me into my high school experience. It was the first day of pep band practice, and I was as nervous as a Christian before the lions (sorry, I just had to...the first day of high school IS harrowing!). Even though most people wouldn't take me for a wallflower in a million years, that day back in late August I was doing my best to impersonate one. Then a pair of friendly eyes caught mine and the friendly person they were attached to came over and said, "Hi, my name is Casey Jones, and I'm from Cockeysville, MD."
And the rest, they say, is history. (As Casey would say here, I'm being reliable in my cliches...;^)
It's been a great ten years, buddy; here's to another wonderful ten.
