phoenixastraeaWell, I have to say how damn proud I am of Germany today. Klose really came through for us when I thought that Argentina had the upper hand. Germany 4-2 over Argentina in penalty kicks. WOOT!!! Germany in the semifinals, probably against Italy. Sieg!! As if that win wasn't cool enough, I also found this great article from Sports Illustrated that essentially confirms that Jurgen Klinsmann is the man: "In a game full of drama, if not the transcendence soccer fans had hoped for, Germany's penalty-kick elimination of Argentina came down to this: Jürgen Klinsmann totally outcoached José Pekerman."
Glenn and I went into a priority care center today to get his ankle X-rayed. Fortunately, there were no breaks or fractures or torn ligaments to be found. He just sprained the hell out of it but will not require a cast. *sigh of relief*
Additionally, I just saw on ESPN that the Mavs are hoping to complete negotiations of a more solid contract with Jason Terry, who is a free agent. They also mentioned a 3-year-extension to Dirk Nowitzki's contract, which (if I remember correctly) is up in 2008. *does a happy happy dance*
I also want to take this moment to tellphantom_hpuff and celinra how much they rule. Because they do. =^)

2. Lost someone close to you: 17, my great grandma who was like a second mother to me. To this day I haven't really dealt with the grief that devastated my heart and my family at the time. Total holocaust of the soul, even though we had the joy of her company until she was 91.
3. Drank alcohol: 21. Was definitely a straight edge until then.
4. Smoked weed: never
5. Went to the hospital: Age one, going through a glass door on Xmas Eve. The glass tore up the left side of my face and severed the muscles underneath it. It was also less than an inch from my eye and another one came damn close to my jugular. It took 3 surgeries on the big one on my cheek, two on the one on my neck and one on my chin. I got teased a lot for how I looked in grade school, but these scars are a part of who I am and in all honestly, look kinda badass. Think Inigo Montoya from Princess Bride. It just reminds me that I'm one tough cookie and a survivor.
6. Got your heart broken: 17 junior year of high school. I think when my first boyfriend broke up with me, that hurt bad, but this dude in junior year *really* did a number on my heart and we had never even dated.
7. Got kissed: Sweet sixteen. I was a sophomore in HS and I was at a party with my then new boyfriend...it was a heck of an experience...under red lights, listening to "Under the Bridge" by the Chili Peppers. To this day, that song makes me smile.
8. Lost a pet: 13, my pet iguana Raphael died. I cried like crazy. To this day, I don't know what killed him but I have heard a rumor that one of my gparents accidentally dropped something on him when they were attempting to feed him.
9. Got arrested: Never, but came damn close when some friends and I were coming back from a night out and the two guys we were carpooling with decided to drag race. One wasin a black Camero, the other in a red 911 Porsche. It was 2:30am and they started pealing out down our main road. No less than 6 cops came to pull us all over. I seriously thought we were done for; my friend in the Camero only got slapped with a fine and a warning because he wasn't in the lead...and the dude with the Porsche got his license suspended for 2 years. Yeah.
10. Smoked a cigarette: 20, was in a bar with friends, grabbed a ciggy from one of my guy friends who was out with us and took several drags on it because I felt like doing something I never thought Id do. I'm an asthmatic b/c my mom smoked, so I vowed never to do it. Famous last words. Even so, haven't done itsince.
11. Broken a bone: Never (knock on wood).
12. Got a job: 18
13. Got cheated on: Never.
14. Got suspended/detention: Definitely got in some big trouble in elementary school. Probably 5th grade; was fighting with some chick over stupid stuff. Yeah, big shit with the teachers, got lunch detention, which made me feel defiant and badass. Heh.
15. Went to a concert: Well, I saw Michael Crawford when I was 18, but if we're talking rock concert, it would have to be U2 for their Elevation tour. It was a religious experience, seeing them live.
16. Got your own cell phone: 18
17. Had first boy/girlfriend: 16
18. Got a MySpace: Sadly, it was earlier this year. I probably had it for about 2-3 months before the bad vibes I got from it turned me to Facebook instead.
19. Snuck out of the house: Never
20. How old are you now?: 25
