FINALLY got to see Transformers today after WAAY too long of a delay.
My comments are going behind a cut.

OH MY FUCKING GOD I LOVE TRANSFORMERS SO MUCH!!!!
Ahem. And now, for coherance.
Wow. I was SO completely blown away by this movie. I went in with THE worst expectations because I was not a fan of the character designs and some of the changes in cars that they made for my faves. One of my buds told me that Bumblebee was not a VW Bug b/c VW (and Porsche, in Jazz's case) didn't want to be associated with the "war" effort, which is bollocks considering the main focus in the movie was the war between Autobots and Decepticons. Whatever. Bay and Spielberg got in some good shots at Porsche, but really nailed VW! I will admit, when I saw the Camero pull in next to the old VW, I squeed. I admit. I was also impressed with the acting from the humans in the movie. Shia Labeouf is a good lil actor. Good show, good show.
And Prime. MY GOD. Hearing that voice again....I'll admit, I got a little choked up. It was like someone had hit rewind to my childhood. I still missed Welker as Megatron, but Weaving did a great job in making Megatron a worthy, scary foe rather than the ridiculous 80's "villain", whose schemes were usually no more cockeyed than were Starscream's. It was also nice to hear him busting on Starscream again, just for old times sake. They also did a fantastic job setting up for the sequel, which promises to be AMAZING as well, with new additions to the cast. My Soundwave better be in the next movie or I riot.
Also, hearing Peter Cullen say "My bad" was worth the price of admission alone. Definitely worth seeing in theaters a few more times.

Date: 2007-08-13 12:59 am (UTC)God, I need to see it again before it leaves theatres. And even though they had to change the make of the car, Bumblebee was even firmly cemented into my heart.
Is it out on DVD yet?!
=^) I needs me a Prime icon.
