Ich liebe sie, Dirk Nowitzki!!

Well, I'm coming off of a disappointment last night when the Mavs lost their 13 point lead in the last six minutes of Finals Game 3 last night.  My beloved Dirk went 10-12 at the free throw line, which is awesome; unfortunately, one of those that he missed would have tied the team up at the last second and sent them into overtime.  He's understandably crushed but I'm sure Avery Johnson is going to kick their butts from here to Dallas to get them back into shape.  While I would have loved for a sweep, this makes for a more interesting series.  

Of course, those of you non-basketball enthusiasts are going, "Dirk who?"  "Nowitski-wha?" 

Well, my dear friend, I'm glad you asked!! 

I've recently become a huge fan of the Dallas Mavericks, primarily due to one Dirk Nowitzki, a 7 foot tall, 245 pound dynamo from Germany who's currently one of the best players in the league right now.  Its truly incredible to see someone who is seven feet tall with the agility of a six footer.  He can shoot, he can move, he can dunk, he can free-throw, he can shoot threes, he can do it all, unlike a lot of other seven foot plus-ers (*cough cough SHAQ cough cough*) who are bricks at the free throw and are usually only good for one move, which is normally a dunk that they don't even have to stretch to make.  Please.  That's not talent.  That's hype.  

In short, Dirk is the man.  Here's the pictorial evidence. 

Here's Dirk looking like a total effing beast.  Seriously, he looks like he's going to kill some poor sucker on the other team. It was from shots like these that I used to nickname him "Caveman".  Needless to say, I don't call him that anymore.

Yeah, I mean, for real; LOOK at this guy!  I see this picture and I'm forced to quote Hugh Laurie's 'Sophisticated Song': "When I'm with you/Can't seem to find my cool..."

"...Yeah, when I'm with you...I'm just a dribblin' fool!"  *ducks tomatoes* But seriously, whoa, nice legs!! This man can seriously move; he doesn't just lumber around like some other tall ballers.

Two words: HOT DAMN!!!   What a powerhouse!!

Again, I'd like to remind you all that this man is moving around nearly 250 at 7 feet tall...Whoever that dude is from the Lakers, he's also looking at Dirk's ass!!

Yeah, he knows he owns.  Oh, and you Cheerleader hobags over there! Hands off, he's mine!! 

I also didn't realize that he and another fave of mine, Steve Nash of the Phoenix Suns, are best friends and used to be on the Mavs together until Steve left for Phoenix.  WHAT?!?!?!?! NnN together in the Finals?!?!?! It would have been glorious.  Shame on you, Steve.  For shame.
