Wow...would it be in poor taste for me to say, "CRIKEY!!"  ?

I couldn't believe it when I saw the news today.  Its both horrible and ironic in the way that he died, with a stingray's barb through his heart!  Its absolutely heartwrenching but also sadly expected that he might die at the hands of one of his more deadly pursuits.  Even still, its a terrible loss because he was so dedicated to education and conservation no matter the danger and the risk to himself.

RIP, Steve Irwin...I'll miss you.

In other news, I am absolutely thrilled to feel the onset of autumn, probably my favorite season of all time.  The new year is just right around the corner and it feels really great.

I also have a question/challenge for you, flist: what should I say when I meet Mssrs. Shatner and Nimoy so that I don't sound like just another fangirl?

Discuss.

How about saying something like, "Wow! I can't believe I'm actually shaking hands with Leonard Nimoy! Seriously, I know you get this all the time, but I'm you're BIGGEST fan. I actually have spent the last 2 years kidnapping young girls, skinning them, and turning their skins into a Spock suit. It puts the lotion on its ears." I bet he won't have heard THAT before.

ROTF!! "It puts the lotion on its ears!!"

Awesome.

That's even better than when I read that some chick had given Matt Hardy a vial of her blood so he could mix his with hers and they would be soulmates...

Steve Irwin's death took up a rather large chunk of our news bulletin both last night and tonight. I feel very sorry for his wife and kids. :-(

And to be honest, I have no idea what I'd say if I met Shatner and Nimoy, none at all. I'm one of those people who would love to meet them, but have someone else with me to handle the intelligent conversation side of things 'cause I'm a wimp. *g* Have to say, I am pretty envious, though. You could always say to them "I'm making someone in New Zealand very jealous right now." *giggle*

Yeah, I don't know what I'm going to say either! Ridiculous! I've had a whole year to plan for this and I'm going to be tongue-tied...

*facepalm*
