Post Secret....
Sep. 24th, 2006 09:38 pmSorry I've been bad about updating. Its been a long hard couple of weeks and I've felt anguished, confused, and more than a little lost. I feel like I'm at a serious changing point in my life and I'm standing here fainting at the crossroads.
In random news, I am ADDICTED to PostSecret. Absolutely addicted. I was over at a friends house last night and saw that he had a book of hundreds of Postsecrets compiled from this site. I was absolutely mesmerized and entranced by the secrets that graced its pages. Some of them were delightfully funny, some of them were gross, and more than a few made me clutch my chest in agony. Some were seriously painfilled; one in particular that I don't think I will ever forget read as follows: "I tell people that I don't believe in God...when actually I refused to worship a god who allowed my grandfather to hurt me like he did".
Yeah. Really intense stuff. I couldn't take my eyes from it and I think I read the thing cover to cover. At the first convenient moment, I think I will head out to Barnes and Noble and buy it. If you're at all interested, I believe you can find it in the biography section. Its also on the link that I posted above if you scroll down to about the middle of the page. I'm debating on sending in a few post secrets myself and seeing if I can get them posted. Seriously, check it out.
I also learned how to play craps the other day. I'm not much of a gambler, but that was a lot of fun. Tomorrow I'm heading back to fencing and working to get my fencing legs back in shape. It's going to be both wonderful and painful. Saturday I went to the Kickoff Open and saw a ton of people that I hadn't seen since I had headed back to grad school. I got to see my buddy Andrew, who recently got married and well, as everyone says, dropped off the face of the earth thanks to his newfound marital bliss. Another friend of mine, Kashi, now has a baby boy, which is awesome. I also ran into four of my best chicas from UVA at the tournament! I miss them like crazy and I'm so damn proud of them for heading to this tournament, which was large and intense.
I also need to get myself a career. I've been content with just a job and earning money for the months that I've been back and working through this transition stage. Now, I think I need to start listening to the nagging of my family and get my ass in gear. That's my next priority. That, and getting back in shape.
Oh, and this icon rocks my face off. Seriously.
